Ok, so now we're getting serious. The real trick to investing and trading on-line is finding the right information to help you to hopefully make the right decisions. So on this page you'll find links to many of the web sites that we use regularly. But hey, there's literally thousands more out there so if you come across any other good ones then let us know.

The Silcon Investor is a great site for following discussion threads on most NASDAQ or NYSE stocks.  www.techstocks.com

You can also take a look at the SI: links below to follow each of the companies in our portfolios. These links will open up the discussion thread in this window so just click the Back button to return to this page.

SI: AOL -  America On-Line

SI: AMZN -  AMAZON.COM

SI: DELL -  Dell Computer

SI: LBRT -  Liberate Technologies

SI: INTC -  Intel Corporation

SI: EGRP -  E*Trade

SI: EBAY -  EBAY

SI: IBM -  IBM

SI: NOK - Nokia Corporation

SI: NOVL -  Novell

SI: NT -  Nortel Networks

SI: RNWK -  Real Networks

If you're looking to set up an On-Line trading account then we'd recommend taking a look at E*Trade. They have an Australian E*Trade Site as well if you're looking to trade on the ASX.

Datek is also worth having a look at. Datek guarantee your order execution time and also have a java based quote streamer which can provide live quotes for up to 40 stocks at once.

We also use Charles Schwab for our largest portfolio.  Schwab are more expensive at $29.95 per trade but they offer an extensive range of news, analyst reports and trend data for their customers.   Unfortunately though it appears as though Schwab aren't presently opening any new Australian accounts.

If you're looking for all the latest news, views and market information then you should probably take a look at CBS Market Watch. We've even moved their link to the top of this page as it really has become one of our favourites.

Another way to check out what's happening today on all the financial markets is to visit cnnfn.com. CNN also have a really handy currency convertor which allows you to view any exchange rate among 164 countries for any day since January 1, 1990 through yesterday.

The Quicken.com site is another one that just keeps on getting better.  In particular Quicken provides extensive analyst information for all Dow and Nasdaq stocks.  These reports are updated weekly and are often a key indicator of how a stock might perform. Quicken also offer plenty of other investment information at

Here's another handy site for finding out the earnings whisper numbers for any NASDAQ or NYSE stocks.

Take a look at the Motley Fool site for free quotes and market updates or just to get all the latest market news.  Become a registered fool and create your own portfolio of stocks you've bought or just want to watch. www.fool.com

The ZDNet Interactive Investor is another site that we recently stumbled over which has some great news and feature articles. www.zdii.com

Whoops, we'd better not forget to include a link to the NASDAQ home page as well. After all, that really is where all the action happens.  The NASDAQ site can provide delayed quotes, charts and market data on any of the NASDAQ listed stocks. You can also get quotes on NYSE stocks but charting and analyst information is not available.

And finally the New York Stock Exchange is a site worth keeping in mind for quotes and market information for all NYSE listed stocks.
